86 Battery Problem?

sorry...i can hear sum noise from the engine where it sounds like sumthing is being stuck in the middle...the dashboard light was on when i try to start the engine...i can't tow start the car...yea i did get a brand new battery coz i realized that the old battery was completely dead...but the situation still didn't change after a new battery was installed...cheers...
