Well, that does feel like it has come out of nowhere, since it didn't seem that long ago that I had the sideskirt off and there was no signs of rust under there, but it's only on the near-side, the off-side is rock solid. It's more the hole in the bulkhead under the arch that got me, I have been pulling cables in and out of there for a long time, but it was only when I poked around with a screwdriver, that I noticed there was something hiding underneath the seam sealer.
