my overall point is I believe there is some irregularities in the new forum

The idea behind it is that you can quote multiple people in one reply and I guess I already gotten used to it while testing.
Fixed that by now setting the default quote to the one you "reply" to and you can still select multiple postings to quote though.

In other words: without ticking the quote button and hitting reply you will quote only that particular post.

@Bean Bandit: can't see a thing unfortunately. But I'll try to see if google can help me out with this issue.
