RE: Ivan141's coupe [project rebooted]
Door nr 2 is done.
Welding: ![]() ![]() ![]() Much grinding: ![]() Zink sprayed. ![]() ![]() Some temporary paint... proper finish will be done after blasting.. there is just paint, no filler. ![]() ![]() ![]() Check for straightness, the front end is a bit out of line, but it's nothing drastic. ![]() I finished stripping the rest of the parts off the doors so they are completely ready for blasting afterwards. Noticed a couple of things I will need. If anyone has any of these parts or knows if they can be bought new please let me know. -Left front corner window trim (the bit under the mirror): spotweld holding a bit of thread came loose. Dont know if I can fix it without ruining the plastic. Industrial glue might be the answer. -Left inner window guide rail is missing.. this should be bolted inside the rear (doorhandle) side of the door. If I cant find one I'll have to make one. -1 of my door hinges need to be fixed up or replaced. Dont know if bottom or top hinge. -Bottom window trim on both sides will need to be replaced or fitted with a new bottom window seal.. Old dried up ones tend to hold crud in them and cause scrapes on the windows. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
