It's somewhat normal. You basically need a lower profile connection where the bumper and fender meet at that point.
Remove the bolt (you won't need it anymore). Then trim the bumper and fender tab, but leave enough material to drill a hole through each. Then use a zip tie to connect the bumper and fender - through the drilled holes - kind of like the bolt use to. It's a bit of a bodge, but at least you can't see the zip tie from the outside and will no longer rub. |
