It should work electrically as it is a generic cigarette lighter. It uses 12 volts and has two only connections, so it should be a straightforward swap. The only question is if it will fit 100%. The diameter of these is the same for the inside, but it could be slightly different on the outside and the same for the mounting points.
I think the chances are higher using a lighter from Toyota from that era.
