RE: PCD adaptation
I'm pretty sure that the reason you don't see 4 x 114.3 to 5 x 100
adapters for the AE86 style hubs/lug nuts is that it is impossible to make such an adapter. The holes are too close together to allow room for the counterbore required for standard lug nut fixing. This pic shows how close they are when using capscrews... Those are 4 x 100 to 5 x 100 adapters. Using 4 x 114.3 moves the four holes out by 7.15mm but then there has to be another hole added as the long stud can't be used with different PCD's. I seem to remember wrestling with this issue myself a few years back and finding that there was no workable answer. You can get custom 5-stud hubs for the front easy enough, but a 5-stud conversion for the rear is a major unless you happen to be using a HiLux axle that can be re-drilled to 5 x 100. Maybe weld, machine and re-drill the AE86 axles might work ? Cheers... jondee86 The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
