Your idea about a donation-info-page is most welcome. It should include: what exactly you have in mind in the future (and what it'll require), what the situation is now (money wise) and public accounting ($donations vs $expenses) like on a.scarywater.net.

EDIT: Forgot... The accounting page should of course list the donations and the donors, but in an unrelated way so noone feels "better" than others.
