Usual DOT 3,4, 5.1 fluid absorbs water through the fluid surface in master cylinder reservoir. My Honda have "humidity" sensor in this reservoir and when the levels of absorbed water were high - I was warned via red brake lamp on dash. In fact I suspect that this sensor is just some kind of fluid resistance measurement ...
DOT 5 is not hygroscopic - so this problem will not persist anymore.
