I just remembered something that I heard awhile back. A friend of mine is really into sylvia's and he said that most engine parts of the sylvia are exchangeable with many other nissans.

One of the things he let us know is if you take the 16valve head of a 180sx S13, and you take the block of a 2 liter bluebird 8valve, you can create a two liter 16 valve that can work with the stock turbo just fine. Nice thing offcourse is that the 2liter block from a bluebird can be picked up for very little money. Finding a 16 valve S13 head is the tricky part but that doesn't stop S13 owners upgrading their car offcourse

Then again, I think they even put one of these engines in an S12 so might be something worth looking into
