I think in the UK they were sold as Lexus SC. As Dogs Danglies has already mentioned, it came with the 2JZ-GE, early non-VVTi 1JZ-GTE Twin Turbo, and also 1UZ-FE, four cam, 4 liter V8. It is simply impossible to break any of these Toyota V8 engines (if used right) - my uncle is a happy owner of a LS400 (which is almost as old as I am) and nothing EVER broke down, and it's driven every day. He did nothing to the car, except for the regular service. I think that those older japanese cars can go head to head with classic Mercedes in terms of reliability (not including the newer ones).

Ahhh, VTEC. All the lag, none of the turbo. It's like waiting for bad sex.
