When the links aren't equal length it means as the rear suspension compresses (Or when the car's lowered), the driveshaft is working at an angle to the differential's input shaft. This reduces grip and is one of the reasons AE86's drift well from slow speeds.
So you can improve rear grip by either fitting "traction brackets", or as Conrad's done - fit equal length links. That way, as the suspension compresses grip will remain more constant. This is more desirable if you want to do say time attack events - or want to drift at higher speeds whilst retaining control of the car. Ueo for example, had the same setup as Conrad for his D1 AE86 with Tomei engine.. Conrad - I'll be going to TPS next week, hopefully buddy.. They've been delayed in getting the engine out of my other car... finishing other jobs. I called them earlier this week and they said they'd expect to start work on the engine about a week from now.. I haven't forgotten what we need to check - once we decide, we can order the goods I guess some of the other stuff we sent you recently will start arriving soon...! VISIT OUR NEW WEBSITES!!!!
