Back from Japan
After doing some touge with the AE86 and M3 we took the RX7. It ended in me being shocked in what level car it is compared to an AE86.

I always said I would buy an R32 GTR for the track the moment my AE86 wouldn't let me go any faster any more. But that opinion is now changed. If I would ever go to a different track car than the AE86 it would be an RX7 FD.

During our little tours finding touge drifters we passed Fuji Speedway. Where there was a bigger weird van meeting.

Ok, I drove the M3 and the RX7 Not really hard but I actually found my biggest problem. I am scared of turbo's. Where I was able to fully depress the accel on the M3 I was scared to go past half gas on the RX7. As I don't have any real experience with high turbp cars.

Although the shifting on the M3 didn't went to my taste the engine felt like I could control it. Whilst in the RX7 I explained Miguel that the car shocked me.

Where Miguel let me give my own choice which car is best.

His AE86 is ultimate for me so far. The engine screams and the car feels great. I don't think any car will ever replace the AE86 for me.

But, for a car that will give me a new challenge on control I think pushing an RX7 to the limit would be good for my driving skills.

The car gave me the feeling to go faster. Like it tells you to go faster. While in an AE86 its like, you want to try that? Have fun you will see what happens. Its the only way for me describe the feeling.

His RX7 is a superb car as well. Regarding control and speed the AE86 will never make that level. But the AE86 is a more real car than any car I have driven so far. It responds "real"no electronics no ABS etc.

Back to Tokyo to my companions to go for the last shopping tour.
Two days later it was time to go back home. Thank you Japan for giving me 20 very special days.

Damn nice writeup on the trip! Thumbs up!
I get the impression that you actually went there on holiday and not for work! Big Grin Big Grin

About the taxi: most taxis in Japan are either the Toyota Comfort or the Nissan Crew. The Comfort is built on the Crown S150 platform, so in a way they are indeed a Crown. Wink
It would have been nice if you would have driven a Comfort GT-Z: it is a limited supercharged version of the taxi. Very handy if you are in a hurry. Big Grin

The funny little car in Akihabara is called an Itasha and will most probably the next automotive hype to be exported from Japan.

Damn, I'm jealous! Why doesn't have the company I work for have a Japanese branch that needs an IT Architect to stop by regularly? Crying
