Installing seatbelts
Hey Everyone,
OKay, so as most of you know i have 4 points in my car. Now I want to be able to use this car for daily use and the ocasional track event so 4 points are not a must for me, but the use of the rear seat is. So I have desided to go back to the stock 3 points, which the previous owner has misplaced, so I got a set from Jesse (thanks!) he had lying around. Problem with this set is that they've roled all the way up and seem to be stuck. Anybody got any experience with making these seatbelt unstuck without comprimising they're use in the unlikely event of an accident? Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

Yeah....
You need to bolt the seat belt mechanism onto the mounts with the 14 and 10mm bolts. When it is bolted in place, the tension on the mechanism frame will allow the reel to unwind. |

Will,
It is indeed the holding it in the right way that solved it. The problem though was that the seatbelt was rolled up so far, I needed both hands to get it to wind a tad bit further for it to release. After I figured that out it rolled like crazy So now I finally have normal seatbelts and normal seats back in my car!! Strange thing though, brown seatbelts in a blue interiour hachi Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

Installing seatbelts
A small kick from your friendly admin.
Yesterday I got a call from Robokill while he was installing his seatbelts. He had exactly the same problem as I did when I installed the seatbelts: don't mix up your seatbelts. They fit on both sides but don't release the belt when mixed up. The only way to distinguish them is by looking at the plastic cover: it doesn't fit that well if you mix them up, but if you have stipped your car like Robokill you can't tell the difference. If you remove your belts from the car: don't let them roll up, keep them as long as you can. Also mark them left and right to prevent confusion. Edit: I've used Apardal's rebuild to show the seatbelts 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |
