16v oversize valve seats
Hey
So, can such a thing be found - do I need any at all? I have a set of oversize Ferrea that I'd like to upgrade with together with some higher lift cams. Gotta find that last 0.1hp - Niels |

I kinda knew it could be done, but is it necessary for, what essentially is a street car? Are the F/A engines running oversize valve seats?

Are the F/A engines running oversize valve seats? every 4AG with Atlantic type O/S valve coming from Loynings uses O/S seats... some steel, some beryllium copper. They run O/S seats so the the bowls can grow too.... Stock intake valve seats are just shy of 32 mm, while the exhaust seat is a little short of 28.5mm. Ferrea OS valves are 32mm, and 27.5. By the time you make the stock seats/bowls the same ID of the OS seats/bowls, the seat itself is too thin and may not stay in the head. Even a little bit of movement in the seat can cause catastrophic results Dan - You can | .... OR you can ask for help!!! OST Porting service - http://hachiroku.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19991 |

Copy that. Thanks Dan. Do you know where Lyonings get their seats from? You maybe even have part numbers?
Man...that last 0.1hp is gonna get expensive - maybe I'll just turn off the lights and do another dyno pull LOOL |

I wouldn't go through so much trouble just to tip it over 200hp.
Surely there must be other options left open to extract a little bit more performance out of the engine? Low drag alternator / underdrive pulley or something of the kind.. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Haha - that was a joke Ivan I think I can safely round up and say the 200hp goal has been achieved. But this is "only" with 8,4mm lift cams and stock valves so now I have decided to raise the ceiling. |

Which cams do you use and what's your CR if I may ask.

harkes Wrote:Do you know where Lyonings get their seats from? They make them for themselves... from what I've seen they have a long tube of steel/copper that they "slice" off sections to use for seats. (just guessing....) Do you know how close they come to the edge of the bucket cylinder casting?? This is the 272/235 - 9.4mm cam - note it is VERY close, but the bucket has not had to be modified for clearance Btw.... I assume you are still using the piston/rod combo? Then you don't have to worry about valve interference if you decided to go OS.... Dan - You can | .... OR you can ask for help!!!
