16v to 20v throttle body's TPS
is 16v small port TPS inter-changeable with 20v silvertop TPS?

for example, i want to convert my small port to quad throttle, do i need to change the silvertop TPS to the 16v TPS ?? or should i just plug the cable on to the 20v silvertop TPS??

pigtail (connector) it's different. But think you could install 16v tps in it.

I read somewhere (club4ag I think) where you can use the 20V TPS
but you have to reverse two of the wires. Either cut and join, or de-pin
the two wires and change the two pins over.

Jondee my recollection is that it's the brown and yellow wires that need to be swapped.

However, I would just use your multimeter to test the resistance across the pins. When you open the trottles the VCC-IDL will open resistance and continue to climb, VCC-sensor (VTA?) will vary dependant on position of the throttles. I had to do this recently as I was feeding the IDL wire to my ecu rather than the propoer sensor. My hazy memory says blue is VTA, but double check that!

"To hook up your throttle position sensor (TPS), disconnect the TPS, and use a digital multi-meter. Switch it to measure resistance. The resistance between two of the connections will stay the same when the throttle is moved. Find those two - one will be the +5 Vref and the other a ground. The third is the sense wire to MegaSquirt. To figure out which wire is the +5 Vref and which is the ground, connect your meter to one of those two connections and the other to the TPS sense connection.

If you read a high resistance which gets lower as you open the throttle, then disconnected wire is the one which goes to ground, the other one which had the continuous resistance goes to the +5 Vref from the MegaSquirt, and the remaining wire is the TPS sense wire."
