I need a pair for the front. Which tires give the most grip from your experience?

I only tested the Toyo T1R's from your list. I'm really satisfied with these tires! Cheap and gives you a lot off grip. Performance under wet circumstances is also good. They only dont work with snow!

From your list I also have just tried TR1, they are pretty good, but when your are pushing them for some time, they get really solf and they loose the "feeling".
I would like TR1 with potenza side walls...

My choice GY Eagle F1 gsd3 (best grip in wet for sure)
Toyo T1R is OK

Has somebody tried Nankang NS-2? My friend recently bought these tires (after Eagle F1) and was very pleased with performance. Not as good as Eagle's, but price... Low budget, good dry grip. I don't know how they perform after some usage.

I wouldn't recomend Dunlops. I've met a lot of unsatisfied Dunlop users

DO NOT BUY NANKANG NS2's !!! I have many km's with them under my belt now...very VERY poor wet weather performance, sidewalls are not stiff and move around noticably. Grip was ok at first, but quickly degraded. Worst tire I have experienced so far and I've had some crap already.

T1Rs are ok under lightweight vehicles. Anything under 1000kg should be doable. They are also extremely sensitive to temps, just like the T1S's used to be. Wether that is a problem depends on your driving style. I've seen people that "work" the tires a lot chunk T1S's on their 3rd lap of the nordschleiffe, yet another guy I know ran them an entire season (100+ laps) under a 200kg heavier RWD car running 30sec faster laptimes.
I've also heard a lot of good about the Bridgestone RE720, Mux has them under his car as well and is quite happy I think.

Falken Ziex suck imho. Good allround tire though..relatively low noise, comfort is ok and low wear. I don't know the rest on your list and am not going to bother investing any money in getting to know them.
Shortlist would be:
T1Rs, RE720, the kooks. EDIT: Eagle F1's GDS3 are pretty good to, great wet weather performance indeed..no diff almost with dry..had them under my civic and liked them mucho..thought they were discontinued though.

Hmm...Brigestone RE720 are also an option but they didn't list them on http://www.autobandenmarkt.nl.

Anybody had any experience with the Yokohama AVS sport? I believe they are discontinued but the still have them in stock.

Also curious about why the dunlops are no good. I've seen a lot of BWM 5series with Dunlop sport 9000.

Agree with NoHachi about T1R... no constant grip, and it can be worn out fast.
And also vote for Eagle F1.. great all-around tire and cheap.

Yokohama AVS Sport is excellent on track, but on the road it's so-so; it has to warm a lot to get grip (on 900 kg car that can be difficult), and on rain it's disaster (almost crashed friends car because of that)...



Anybody tried Yokohama S-drive ?? New tire, new compound, and it comes from 14 inch to 20 inch witch is promising

RE720 is since the beginning of 2007 out of the lists, they don't make them anymore. I believe the Turanza should be the replacement.

Proxes T1-R are most bang for the buck, drove them under my 309GTI16 on the ring. Calavera did a 10mins with it. (Only 10 laps experience, we're still rookies ).

I like the Yokohama A539 but I do not know if they still make them
I think Toyo t1r is a good choice.
