1984 ae86 no oil cooler
OEM oil cooler is a by-pass type, that operates at near atmospheric
pressure, and returns oil to the sump. Just about any type of oil-resistant hose or pipework will be fine. Aftermarket coolers take oil from the filter to the cooler and back to the filter. They are part of the engine lubrication system, and operate at the same pressure as you read on your gauge. Your hoses, fittings and pipework should be rated to operate at 10 bar or more without leaking. If it is a full flow oil cooler, consider one with a thermostatic valve to prevent the oil temperature dropping below 80 deg C. Cheers... jondee86 |
