20v bt swap to ae86 (20v or 16v flywheel????)

Hi.
is it true that most people use the 16v plywheel when swaping the 20v blacktop?

I will use a 200mm flywheel on my Blacktop and yes I think most do

ok guys. since i only had one 4age till now i do not know wich one the 200mm one ist... is that the one of of my 16v?

another question i have is. can i use the pilot bearing from the 16v? or do i need a differnt one. (should be the same right?)

Yes the 200mm is off the 16V and the bearing should be the same.

We put 16V bluetop pilot bearing to 20V engine - it fits OK.

Why would you use a heaver flywheel that holds a smaller clutch??? The blktop flywheel fits the T50 bellhousing just fine. Use the clutch (pressure plate and disc) from the AE92 GTS, or AE101 (212mm) Use the throw out bearing and pilot bearing from the AE86... All works and fits together neatly.... I currently am using the silvertop flywheel. The blacktop flywheel is a full kilo lighter than a silvertop flywheel. The cost for the blacktop flywheel is pretty cheap too... I paid under $230 US dollars for mine - have it, yet to install it....

i already have the blacktop flywheel.. but the clutch and pressure plate prob. cost alot of $$$$?????

I can confirm this, the blacktop flywheel is 212mm next to the 200 in the 16v...but its noticably lighter (havent weighed it though)

and i would have thought clutches to suit AE101's and AE111's (ie generic fwd corollas) would be alot cheaper and available that earlier models!

i have the blacktop flywheel in my daihatsu charmant with t50 gearbox and the charmant release bearing, i got an AP clutch for a toyota avensis for 115euro when the ae111 clutch wore out and its taken about 6 months of abuse with no problems
