20v coolant problem
Hi,
I recently got a 20v blacktop installed with an sq-engineering kit for cooling. Every 5-10 minutes or so the coolant temperature rises till the meter can't go further and then suddenly drops back to normal in half a second. We've tried to bleed the radiator to let the pockets of air out, but it seemed this wasn't the problem. Now we are replacing the sensor ..somehow I think this won't solve it (the sensor was new and a part of the kit). any ideas what else it could be? Still some air stuck somehow? thanks Edit: it's not related to revving it seems to happen completely at random |

Have you checked the thermostat? I would guess it's either air trapped in there or the thermostat waitintg too long to open.

Thank you for replying guys!
@ Ivan; we are going to replace it to be sure, at 25$ it's worth a try. @walaki; I hope so but it worked fine with the 16v. How did you eventually find out it was the panel? |

20v coolant problem
Bravothreezero Wrote:Thank you for replying guys! My electrician guy who built my 20V in found out that the water temperature gauge uses the same resistor as the fuel gauge and if that starts to go, the fuel level still shows accuratly, but the temp gauge becomes like this. I dont really know much about electricity, so dont count my words as this is written in stone, but at least he told me this and so far I dont have any reason not to believe him AE86 GT - SR20DET BlackTop //// Trackday beater Citroen C4 Coupe VTR - 1.6HDi //// Streetcar |

Ah ok! Well if your electric guy didnt get around to fixing it then I highly doubt it will work for us an aftermarket gauge might give me some peace of mind too then
