20v mains & big end bearing
Hi everyone,
I'm replacing the mains & big end bearings according to the FMS. I did the sum with the 5 digits and it gets me the number: 22233 for the mains bearings. As I guess, one digit is the size for one journal. My question is: where goes my first size (2)? The front (oil pump side) or the rear (rear oil seal side) ? Same question with the 4 digits for the big ends bearings (1222). Does it start at the first cylinder (front of the engine) or the rear ? Thanks for your help. |

izanagi, like ditn said.... Don't go for the numbers. They're OK for reference but measure carefully each one.
You have two options here. If your engine is still STD you can buy some King Bearings std ones, and by wear they will match the measurements. OR If your engine is still STD you can go for the numbers (with measurement taken carefully) regards |

Actually, the ACL bearings madness is almost gone... And King Bearings are being used all over with nice results.
I've bought a few for 4AGE's and B16/B18 with sweet results... Keep in mind that the bearing set from ACL/KING STD will not match any numbers you have. They are all the same size, and they work by wear. When you fit them, they will gradually wear and match their clearance. |

If you are using the OEM sizing... the numbers begin at the front of the block......

I've used several King bearings and all of them died in about 1000kms, I really don't get how people having good reliability with them. Or everyone uses the King Racing series? The normal ones I don't suggest, the racing series I never tried.
I had good results with Toyota originals, ACL Race, and NDC (sold in europe under Kolbenschmidt name) also the Taiho is a good japanese brand, I think the Toyota oem ones are also Taiho's. They are sold as Glyco in Europe. |
