20v no spark & dry plugs.
If there had been little oil pressure the needle should have shown that, granted, my engine probably has low oil pressure (Because of the oil sludge)
But in my case it drops all the way down BELOW zero as if the engine was not even running? Got oil indeed 1x AE86 84` Zenki Coupè Levin 4A-GE 20v 1x AE86 83' Zenki Coupe Levin 4A-GE 16v 1x TA60 82' Sedan 2T 8V 1x TA40 78` MK1 Zenk/Pre-Facelift Wagon 4A-GE 16v |

If the engine is badly sludged, it can happen. So it would be worthwhile popping the sump plug out and seeing what drains into a clean pan. An engine does not need much oil flow at idle, but for sure you should not try and drive it until you figure out why no pressure Cheers... jondee86 |

jondee86 Wrote:The possibility that comes to mind with this scenario, is a blocked oil Exactly what I was thinking, I got some really powerful stuff to take care of that sludge so that and getting all the instruments wired up is main priority right now! So this means that probably the Oil pressure gauge is correctly connected (Since it does move when starting the car, but drops down because of probably sludged oil pressure sender), at least thats whats best to assume right now. I have no intentions of opening up anything on the engine yet (I have no experience and am not about to start dinking around with that yet) I`m still worried that the Tacho is not receiving a signal despite being connected to the instructed pin @ the firewall connector on the engine harness, maybe black-orange is not the correct wire? The engine ignition system is OEM, bar that the distributor cap has been moved to the front, so there should be no need to change out the resistors and capacitor in the tachometer? I couldnt find any other black wires at the instrument cluster, except the instrument light wires (Which are black+brown dots) 1x AE86 84` Zenki Coupè Levin 4A-GE 20v 1x AE86 83' Zenki Coupe Levin 4A-GE 16v 1x TA60 82' Sedan 2T 8V 1x TA40 78` MK1 Zenk/Pre-Facelift Wagon 4A-GE 16v |

I don't know where the tacho signal comes from on a 20V. All i know is
that the AE86 tacho needs the voltage spike from the coil negative. It will not work with any kind of 5V or 12V signal that might be supplied by the ECU. Backtrack on your harness tacho wire to see where it is coming from. If it does not come from the coil, try making a temporary jumper wire from the coil negative to the tacho input wire. Cheers... jondee86 |

BUDA has no oil pressure because it's disconnected and that also happens...
When he turns de car on, the needle moves and then goes back to the off position.... Maybe your's is also unplugged? |

That makes sense Jon!
Maybe the tweakdperformance harness gives signal via ECU, which wouldnt be good! 1x AE86 84` Zenki Coupè Levin 4A-GE 20v 1x AE86 83' Zenki Coupe Levin 4A-GE 16v 1x TA60 82' Sedan 2T 8V 1x TA40 78` MK1 Zenk/Pre-Facelift Wagon 4A-GE 16v |
