2TGEU HELP!!! PLEASE HELP!! :)
I have been offered a 2TGEU with ECU and all else to make it run, also comes bolted up to a T50 gearbox and comes with 2 peice driveshaft. Its for a ok price but my question to all you is;
1) If I want to change out the 2TGEU at a later date will a 4AGE bolt right in its place, straight up to the T50, is te bellhousing the same ? 2) How hard is it to change the cable clutch to the hydrolic clutch and how much work is needed? and 3) What mods do I need to do to the fuel system? what fuel pump do I need to up grade etc etc. Any help would be great as I dont have much time to buy this motor....it might be sold to another buyer quick.!! I once read that you shouldnt believe everything you read. |

James,
Doesn't the SR5 also have a T50 gearbox? wouldn't it be easier to use the SR5 gearbox with the new engine and keep the clutch system as it is right now? Question is whether the 2TGEU bolts up to the SR5 gearbox offcourse Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

A T series gearbox will almost certainly fit between different T series equipped cars. I think there are just a few combinations that need minor modifications.
I don't believe though that the 2TGEU will sit on the 4A-GE or 4A-C motormounts. That means fabbing new motormounts and thus no more compatibility with the 4A series engines. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

I will have both motormounts so that doesnt bother me. The SR5 or 3AU powered Trueno uses a K50 gear box so its cable clutch and the T50 uses hydrolic.

James,
Ah a difference between the SR5s we have here then because the ones we have here (mostly imported USA) came with the hydrolic T50 box aswell. I have no idea what needs to be done to convert cable to hydrolic. Its simple in theory but I have no idea about practice because I do not know how the cable system is mounted to the paddle box. If you can simply put a clutch pedal with master cylinder in where the cable is now, the rest should just be a piece of cake. Just a question of getting some 'brake' lines made and hooking up the clutch slave. Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

Got 1 spare for a K40 driver? I'm getting sick and tired from the engine noise @ 100-110 km/h with my 4speed gearbox. I need a K50 gearbox, so if a starlet had a 5speed, it must be a K50.

The Doctor Wrote:I need a K50 gearbox, so if a starlet had a 5speed, it must be a K50. KP Starlets have K40 and K50 boxes :-) Unfortunally my is K40 - so I cannot help you :-( Avoid KPs with 2K (1.0l) engine - they use K40 gears only. |
