4A-GE availability
Terry, you can often pick up a AE82 few GT for next to nothing. Else check out the scrap yards, Fensport used to see engines for rebuilding at £75 so you should be able to get something around that price.

Are there any differences between a 4A-GEs depending on where they where mounted? Like from an AE92 and AE86 and MR2 and on?

The fwd ones (including mr2 as its the same layout) have mounts on the ends and things like the water pump outlets point in the wrong direction. The engine itself is the same though. The redtop TVIS engine is a direct swap as well, its only when you get to the small port that things get more complicated.
