Machining Pistons to run 20v head... And FCR's on a 20v?
Anyone up on this?
I might be running a 20v head on my 16v, is pocketing a high comp 16v forged piston to take the 5th valve something that can be done? Also, anyone ran FCR's on a 20v head? This head has no VVti to worry about, so my current FCR's should theoretically go on with a new inlet manifold and a Dizzy relocation kit.. Right? Ta! Machining Pistons to run 20v head... And FCR's on a 20v?
Quote:At the time I built this engine no one did decomped 5 valve pistons,One Aussi did this when building a 20V turbo engine, so I guess it is possible. Might pay to get an old 16V piston and drill a few holes to see how much meat there is in the dome where you need to cut... and measure the valve to piston clearances very carefully.
