ello mates

if u can help me with thi simple question for the person who really know about it or did this kind of setting

in this video alot of racer are using AE92 engines with the same/or diferent
block well when they say or use the AE92 head they mean the red top (high comp) or the 2nd generation that is in the AE82 too
that confuse me alot cuase i want to build a over200+hp N/A engine and for me the 2nd generation is the best option until now well i know there a lot of variand but keep the 2nd gen, but my question than this racer good racer indee use the AE92 head (what head the 3rd or 2nd)
i m confuse cuase in the bill sherwood page he says the high comp 4age
(the small port) is the best option for 200hp very easy to get but if u want more that 200hp he says the big port is the option -what he means over 200hp turbo charged or N/A?
i want to know if they use the high comp 4age(small port) or the big port 4age to know what to look for
think they use the small cause other racers use 20v head small port
dont u think

well to get you on the road.

4age bigport 3 ribbed 83-87 (40mm crank 18 mm pistonpin) 16v
4age bigport 7 ribbed 87-90 (40mm crank 18 mm pistonpin) 16v
4age smallport 7 ribbed 90-91 (42mm Crank 20mm pistonpin) 16v
4age silvertop 7 ribbed 92-97 (42mm crank 20mm pistonpin) 20v (44mm ITB) VVTI
4age blacktop 7 ribbed 97-01 (42mm crank 20 mm pistonpin) 20v (48mm itb) VVTI

Ok fist one in the movie has a

1.
silvertop lower block with a blacktop head 20V with 304 degree cams in and out. (20V) first oversize pistons 1600CC 9k rev

2.
AE92 lower block (I assume the 42crank version) can't read the cams but thats a 16v with ITB (16V) also he has the pistons at second oversize creating 1605 CC 9k rev

3.
AE111 = Blacktop 20V (no other stuff) standard size pistons but with 304 degree camshafts and the revlimiter at 9500 rpm. (1596CC)

4.
16V with a 42 mm crank (ae92 or ae101) lower block 304 degree cams with ITB's and seems to have a JUN flywheel.

I can keep this up but it takes me alot of time.

If you wanne build a 200hp NA engine please make up your mind if you want 16V or 20V. I think 20V can be done cheaper than 16V.

well thx for the info in the top but already know that
well i know the specs in th evideo too so thc anyway
so my issue its just the AE92 set up when u see there
hetto/buroku : AE92/AE92

they mean black and red top 4age 16v neh?

in th enumber 2 u say 42mm cranck I ASUMME
so u asumme they use the small port
every one in there use 4age small port block or 20v block for the seven ribs and the oil squiters i think so neh?

but why drifters use th ebig port or why in some pages they say use th ebig port well my issue is cause i canbuy an engine 1 time i mean i cant make mistakes buying the wrong 16v to then get limited cause its small port
i cheked katsuhiro use big port so when u run ITBs big port is usefull?
or just for turbo charged set up

in resume :

1they r using a big port or small port head?
i think the small

2 if u want more than 200hp in a 16v u have to get big ported or the big port is just for turbo

3 and i think the 20v 200hp set up it more expensive than 16v correctme if im wrong

1. I think both. bigport heads are great above 200hp. smallports need more work because the ports seem to be a bit to small for 200 hp. (bigport to big)

2. bigport or smallport. They both need work. Though if you check the N2 spec ae86's (they have 215hp) they all run bigport heads

3. 20V is cheaper. to put it out.

standard 20v blacktop has 165hp (crank)
standard 16v (between 115-140 depends on spec)

both need:

head work to be done
diffrent cams
diffrent pistons
good exhaust

16v

needs ITb's
And you need to find the

correct bottom end
need to make ALOT more power to reach 200hp.

Aside from the purchase of the engine.

new pistons are between 400-600 euro
cams 400-600 euro
headwork 400-800 euro

so make the calc yourselve. Yes the 20V needs more adjusting but its more stable.

well keep searchin and saw 20v of 210hp so i think in the video are the high comp 4age 16v and 20v too

in the bill sherwood he says the small port (16v)is the best option to 200hp but the formula atlantic is big port

so he says for more 200hp the big port is the choice but
my issue is if the head is big port and the engine oviusly has no turbo how the hell will get more air ,the depression of the piston makes an air flow
to the combustion chamber if the port is small thats better in high revs increase the air flow and morepower but if like the 4age atlantic has big port the depresion of the piston sucks air to the chamber but in high revs still gets the air flow velocity a big port so i dont understand

the piston sucks the air normal ,smallport less air ?big port more air?
but how the small port make 210hp well i think for the small port increase the air flow in high revs but the big port sucks more air than the small port cause is big port?

The reason a smallport head is better for power up to 200 hp is because intake air velocity at lower revs is much better than on a bigport. Once you need to suck in enough air to support 215+ hp, a bigport head offers less restriction to flow.

Anyway, I'm just guessing here since I doubt much of us have ever seen that much power from a 4age, save perhaps miguel from newera who has a techno-pro-spirits built engine.

I also doubt you will ever see those kinds of numbers if you have to ask all this stuff on a forum. It takes a lot of work, you dont just slap together a bunch of parts and get a 200hp engine.

The 4age from 87.5 - 89.8 is 7rib block without oil squirters 42mm conrod and 20mm piston pin. All the 7rib engines are 42/20mm

For an AE86 the best option is to buy an engine from late AE92. Its the same strong engine like the 20V, also has piston cooler oil squirters, and you don't have to sck with the waterlines and so.... This could be the best base if you want a relyable a tuned engine. The cyl heads are changable and you can get a bigport head cheap if you decide that tha smallport is too small. But I think you can get 220hp from a smallport also if you are very good in tuning.

A lot of pro racers use the small port AE92 block and head to make monster power. Many people do different combinations of the small port block and large port head.

well what ivan says is correct that he i sguessing cause
this kind of setup canbe done just connecting parts and sswwiinnng
a atlanctic 4age
i know that for sure my question was or my issue was cause i m gonna do this setup in the future my self if i got lucky in a few things

but i think here inmycountry the 4age are selling faster thatn i though
alot of newbie buy the engine cause the stupidddddzzzz azzz....holes of
the (want to be tuner) mechanics (i m a mechanic too) ssays to this kids buy a 4age its the better option and the velicity of buying its big so i want to buy a (kind good engine)no the last one in the corner for thsi madafaking kids damn¡¡¡¡
so i want to buy the right engine been 16v or 20v have to be for 200 or alittle more i thnk the yoshioka engine its a 20v of 230hp with nos i cheked yesterday was like 280 or like the ppl says (oh my f....god 300hp)
well there a discussion and blah blah blah
well after search alot and this posts i think my option will be the 3rd gen 4age(7ribs = ok have to be;the external oil drain = bonus;the compresion ratio = uhm easy to increase just $$$; oil squiters = ok much better;the MAP = nice;small port= uhm prefer big port but i m not engineer for now jeje;well a nd other thing .

i search for the 16v weight but i didnt find it but the 20v yes its 125kg
the 16v is lighter?

well after all still got doubt if the 16v small port canmake200hp
having 16v the 20v even having 3 air valves why reach the same horse power ,i recently cheked a video from e impulse of their 210hp black top
well what can i say
this dudes make me thing maybe the 16v it snot the option
until i make the set up in afew year i though maybe if i buy a blakc top
i can run it until my trip well the 16v im gonna run it fo rsure but between
120hp at the wheels and the 150hp of the balck top made me doubt
and in a few years the 20v gonna be more than the 16v that why im tripin

1)but a little comment i made my self the 16v performance parts make more power than the 20v performance parts

2)and the final quetion i made myself the price i always though the conversion of the 16v were cheaper thatn the 20v
everybody told me 20v atlanctic uhmm more expensive to do thatn the 16v
well here some one told me i think its up of the post teh 20v its cheaper
well
im tripin again

heeeeeeelp

ps
and the black topcan be run ITBs with a few buck and the 16v have to be
the black top ECU and the 4trhtle

so 16v 3rd gen? or the black top with that adicted ITB sound?

OMG
