4age idle/fuel problem

I have a problem with 4age not running properly. It starts fine, but runs only for a few seconds while 5th injector (cold start) delivers fuel. Fuel pump is good, injectors also fine.
Maybe pressure problem in fuel rail? ECU problem?

What fuel pump are you using?
What is the fuel preassure? Measure it!

Has this happened after work has been done on the fuel system ?

Do you hear the injector ticking after the cold start injector stops? Even without fuel you can hear em clicking away. Maybe put a screwdriver on top to help you feel them.

I'm guessing an injector ground is loose somewhere.

OEM, got it from you 2 years ago. Tested on celica 1.6 that was in the garage.
We will measure it as soon as manometer arrives, after the weekend I believe.

Don't know, car has been sitting for years, than I got it 3 years ago and started restauration. This was probably the original problem why the car hasn't been run for years.

I'll take a closer look at injectors tommorow.

Check your EFI main relay nr 2. Injectors should always have 12v coming from this relay with the ignition on, the ECU switches them to ground. The start injector is controlled by a time switch, so has nothing to do with the ECU at all.
Just check your injectors for 12v, if you cant find it, either the relay is dead, or it's a fuse (wiring is always the last suspect).

It was problem in fuel rail full of rust peieces from old fuel tank. Injectors and rail cleaned and engine works almost like charm :mrgreen:

The cooling radiator is next, then spark plugs and probably leads, and them we shall see if any new problems will arise.
