hi guys ive got a 2 door ae86 with the 4agze supercharged engine im currently using the car for the track but wondered if it was normal not to have the whinning noise from the supercharger? this may sound a little strange but every other one ive seen makes this noise, the car still pulls ok, ??????

Yes, the SC generates some extra noise.

Some extra noise? Ever heard a large Autorotor or other twinscrew at full steam? Those things will completely drown out any noise coming from the exhaust. Makes the car sound like a Tie-fighter from Star Wars..ghe ghe

There used to be a vid on one of the early Irish AE86 sites. Blue car, gold rims and a GZE. You didn't need a lot of imagination to think up the Tie-fighter simile.

A GZE with stock intake and stock pressure ratio isn't that bad sounding. Usually this is considered a good thing lol..a lot of people don't like the mechanical droning noise, since it is there all the time.

thanks mabye a little less noise is a good thing?? also i was thinking about going for the larger crank pully kit, but if this means blowing my engine to pieces i might give it a miss does anyone have any experience of this mod?

I drove a 4AGZE for half a year. And YES there was no doubt that it was supercharged... So it seems very strange to me that it doesn't make any noise. Have you tryed to dyno it?
