Robokill, Toyota has confirmed that the engine numbers on Phills 4A-GE match his AE86. So it means it came out from the factory like that.
I also have a 7 rib block in my Red Kouki. Maybe AE86's with chassis numbers past JT1S0AE8600245000 have 7 ribs. I will check my Silver/Gray kouki next month. But it has a lower chassis number... It is widely known on the net, that AE86's had the early 3 rib blocks. Practically the same as the 4A-C but with EFI.
