AE86 + CA18DET
I've blown up 5 CA18DET engines. They are pretty indestructable. A highly tuned CA will out perform an SR anyday. their iron block is a pretty strong block, they can take a good beating and survive. An SR if you rev it the wrong way or you overheat it your done. Slap in that CA, put a Nissan Pulsar turbo on it and you will be drifting with ease. Oh and the only reason I blew them up was because I had a TO4 E turbine on it and I love 9000 RPM hole shots. and I also love the sound of a rod going through the block!

well i have just finnished a turbo/manual CA swap into my silvia (was a NA/auto) and i have my old CA lying in my garage.

i was already gonna buy my mates KE70 rolla and put a 4A in but in the last couple of days i have decided to look into rebuilding the NA and bolting a turbo to the side of it, with a manual box of course, and puting that in the rolla...
so any info you find about it or progress you make in the project post it up keen to see how ya go

Zax, are you really sure about putting 4AGE into the Starlet? This would be an idea...

how about KP61 - CA18deT(T) Hurray! make a monster starlet!

As i hear it CA's are pretty cool engines. They need new bearings after some 200k kms, but the engine itself is good.

ZaX Wrote:Yes yes, i know all of this BUT i have white AE86 with pretty much everthing i need AND i have another AE86 chasis + CA18DET AND i have spare S13 chasis (with no papers = not legal).
So all ingredians are in my backyard. Just need a "bit" of work to put all this together.
Maybe just to build it as a 1/4 mile runner.

Look, that Ca18DET will bolt DIRECTLY into my Silvia, So,how about we swap, your 86 for my S12?

eh? EH? Cool

heres a piccy...
