I think it spoils 86s but I can see why drifters choose em for cheap power,
Darren McNamaras SR20DET Levin is unreal on the track, really quick, I heard there is alot of SR20 conversions in Ireland now amongst the drift faternity. An 86 is for Life, not just for Christmas |

ae86performance Wrote:Does anyone know what the CA18DET swap into the AE86 entails? I've heard of using RB engine mounts and RB tranny with the CA bell housing but what about wiring? Is there a "how-to" posted anywhere? I'm in the states and this swap is unheard of so I wanna be the first!u could always check the ausi forums those guys do it alot check http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au or the toymods forum |

AE86 + CA18DET
I'll do some more research on it and promise I will do a full write up. I am alsmost finished my S13 project. I put the Silvia front end on and RB20DET plus a lot of goodies. I post a bunch on: http://www.nicoclub.com. Here's a link: http://forums.nicoclub.com/zeropost?cmd=tshow&id=195304
There is PIC's of both cars. For the CA18DET into the AE86, I know that the RB tranny with the CA bellhousing will sit the shifter near facory location and the RB engine mounts have to be used as well. I'm trying to sort out wiring. I think that will be the hardest. Here is a PIC. I couldn't resist. |
