A small amount of progress....
The wiring is moving towards completion and the picture below shows that the welded in strut brace has now been completely removed. The strut brace was obstructing the installation of the airbox. Those of you with a keen eye will also notice that the remote resovoirs for the pedal box have dissapeared, these had to be relocated elsewhere to accomodate the airbox installation. The air box is just being trial fitted in the picture and the final solution will contain the throttle body trumpets, a map sensor to measure ram air pressure, witches hat type filter and a cold air feed direct from the front bumper. The damaged paint in the engine bay will be corrected at a later date and hopefully I will come up with an aluminium type fabricated type strut brace that goes around all the other parts in the engine bay More coming soon (hopefully).... Good progress in the last few days:smthumbup
Starter on for the final time after a good clean Starter and alternator cables made up and on. Engine bay loom earth point cleaned and tapped ready for tag. Bulkhead connectors final fitment Battery cable for interior terminated, just deciding how to run it via the PDM. General shuffling of wiring in engine bay. The more pictures I see off your wiring the more I want to do the same - any guestimates how much you spent all in all for it by now?

I like mil-spec, but I'm not too sure I would have gone with right-angle connectors in all locations. Looks a bit awkward @ the starter cable.
Must have cost a small fortune.. I once looked around to see what it would cost to do this type of wiring myself, but the tooling is mega expensive, and even the budget materials are a stretch for my budget. Great to see your ride coming together. It's not easy being green (me=jealous!). FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
