AE86 SR20DET - Walaki
due to server problems recently i wasnt able to update the projects thread.
heres how the car is now: first: the front suspension is finished but we have an issue: with the rx7-mini cooper disc and roll center adjuster combination the lower control arm touches the disc. who would have thought about that could happen? did anybody had the same problem with this? i assembled my own front suspension it the same thing happened. anyway i will take the lca apart again and modify the edge of it. otherwise, the finished product looks like this: steering tie-rodl (machined to be hollow, out of solid 6 sided stainless steel solid rod) again, made BV style spacers for the rack, adds 1cm more rack travel. hwere is the whole front subframe assembled with the lca-s, and steering components got lock. now the chassis: you can see on the photos, the rear is getting back int shape, the original fenderpanel is gone away, and underneath is strenghtened to overcome the the lack of metal fender and give the body back its original rigidity. the frp fender will be only glued up so after a crash it will be easy to repair/ replace it. |

Tie-rod setup is looking very nice. Looking forward to seeing the finished car. What shell stiffening was done on your car?

Nope, there are already enough weight savings at the back (pockets and lower back-firewall has been cut off) i didnt want to ruin the weight balance AE86 GT - SR20DET BlackTop //// Trackday beater Citroen C4 Coupe VTR - 1.6HDi //// Streetcar |

Always the biggest problem with FR cars. You can just about dump all the weight from the rear with ease, but end up with a snap oversteering bitch of a car.
