Which Daihatsu parts are compatible?
they should be cheaper, but as for ring and pinion gear u could try one from the automatic carina, cause they would have difretn gearing to the manual ones

Which Daihatsu parts are compatible?
mr monster Wrote:i would try and see about that cause i know for sure the dont carry rear sway bars and the earlier models had leaf springs, but for the size of the rear end it may be the same as the sr which i think is 6.3 and not the gts which is 6.7 but im not too sure i only know that the gts carry 10 bolts to hold the diff housing so thats all i have to go on,but i found out that the rear end on a carina cant remember which model is a 10 bolt 6.7 like the gts and can hold a zenki lsd but will have to get the sway bar brackets welded on

wait a minute...

same size as AE86 but leafsprings?

Are you sure? because that could maybe be the solution to my KE20 (and also Damir's KE25) problems....

You would probably still have a problem because the placement of the leafblade mounts is too wide for a ke20. The old celica/carina axle is pretty good I think, since ae86 pumpkins will fit in it.. There are places that sell leaf-spring mounts tat you can weld onto the axle yourself, otherwise it might be possible to take them from an other car all together (there are plenty with leafsprings out there, and the system is pretty much the same on all of them).

Ring and pinions would only be interesting in 4.3 and shorter ratio's.
4.1's can be found quite cheap from Richmond gears, who make them for a small racing class in the US (Legend cars, they use an old toyota axle).
210 dollars or something....But I dont need a 4.1 , I already have a good 4.1 in my basement.

Nice...

I found one quite cheap. Would be nice to use it during the winter and then use the spares for my hachi. Smile

kinda like b20a cr-vtec conversion on hondas.. whats the bottom end like on hose engines? r/s ratio? for a cr-vtec conversion it is neccessary to sleeve the cylinders, or it will break. but those blocks are cast iron right. will that hold?
