Update:
Starter is repaired. A have cut my hands several times to put it in and out the engine bay - I hope I won't have to do it again. The starter had a problem of getting "stuck". The gear wasn't always jumping back, so the car cranked also after the engine started. It was the similar problem then also Jan Pedersen encuntered, this is "eaten" (galvanized) contact B+ as seen in the picture. Regards Andrej |

I'm actually beginning to believe that the weak old type starter engines are better than the reduction starters of later 4age's. My simple old starter is so damn easy to take apart and fix, and although it doesnt have oodles of power to spin the engine, my car always fires up within the first 2 or 3 revolutions. I never have to change that little part either..

Tnx,
yesterday I have dismanted the left tie-rod, as I have to change the rubber boot of the steering. I wanted to change it also on the right side, I can't unscrew the toe-in adjusting screw, it seems that the rust has glued it togheder with tie-rod. I can't even move the screw Regards Andrej |
