Ae86 tacho

Hi there, on my engine swap wiring i,ve was trying to wire check engine lamp on dash and by mistake i aply 12v positive on the tacho signal dash wire. Since now my tach is dead.
How can it be fixed?

I don't know of any reason why applying 12V to the tacho input wire
would cause it to fail. But since you have done a 4AGZE DLI conversion,
you are most likely trying to get the tacho to work with the 4AGZE igniter
tacho output... and that won't drive the tacho. AFAIK the 4AGZE tacho
output is low level (5V) and the AE86 tacho needs a voltage spike (>30V)
to make it work.

You will need to either change some resistors in the tacho driver board,
or obtain a voltage spike from the negative terminal of both coils and
combine the output using diodes. You can find information for both
methods on the interweb.

I,ve already made the resistor things and it was working fine. I realised it doesnt work either blower fan and reverse lights so i guess its maybe a broken fuse. I will check them tomorrow.

Finally checked all wires from both conectors and realised red and blue wire (power) was missed. I wire another power wire attached to it and everything works fine now

Funny thing is the good point to fix it was an jondee answer on another forum?
