American Rally 86 UPDATE
I suck at updating my own build threads.

But uh, progress!

Here's one of the last things I have to fabricate for the rally car. I've got the back carbon fiber end piece attached to the aluminum bit now, and once that's all cured I'll be able to really figure out how I'm attaching the inlet from the airbox.

So the filter lives in that round box, and while there is a hole in the center of the lid, I'm thinking about moving the elbow to the edge of the lid so the bend isn't sooo ridiculous. It's really tight and I'm trying to not have to get a new airbox. I'll get more pics up one I feel motivated to actually manually upload things vs using facebook. My phone decided it no longer wanted to take pictures today... So I can't just quickly upload them, haha.

And everything is painted.

nice work - wouldn't it be easier to just make new mountings for the filterbox so it'll sit at another angle (i.e. 45°)
curious about your progress and good inspiration - I still need to fabricate my stack and airbox... although with a slight different approach (all CF and a regular pannelfilter in the front)

amazing work mate. Your skills have come a long way since you started Smile

How much do you think it will weigh? I came to a point where i said yep it handles well enough, goes fast enough... but its all too heavy..

Need to get that hole saw out Tongue

Brake with the left hand, steer with the right foot...

I'm thinking right around 2100-2200. That's what I'm hoping for. Our minimum weight for this class is technically 2024 or something, but I'm not sure it's ever actually checked! haha. Oh, those are pounds, not kilograms.
