I am also interested in how you modify the tail shaft, Aram.
I have the original shaft weld together with the 6 speed U-Joint.
Everything installed but no balance yet.

BTW, I came back From Aust and my engine is running already, still need some tuning before it can really drive.

Cheers!

Hi guys,

I did not do anything to the tail (prop?) shaft yet.
The part that goes into the 6 speed is to short, they cut it off halfway through the joint.
I need to find another shaft that fits, but I don't know from which cars they fit. :S

@kd,

Good to see it is running. Thumbs up!

Lexus IS 200 Wink Has exactly the same shaft as Beams one. it MIGHT even work from IS with different engine (not only 2.0l one) I bought full shaft including hang up bearing and second half of it that goes to the diff - for 60 pounds shipped to my doors from UK Smile

That is information! Smile
I presume I need the manual gearbox shaft, or doesn't it matter?

Ok, so you guys don't think the project is dead, here is a little update...
Progress is slow though that is a pitty, but alot of thing are nearing completion.

First up the tank, I put the Walbro pump in, which involved a bit of tweaking of the wires.
The standard connectors did not fit the Walbro, luckily a collegue found the exact same connectors and we had a tool to fit them properly, so in the end it sat factory style. Smile

New pump on a new bracket in a new tank:

Under the car:

Then this arrived from the UK, an orignal RS200 propshaft:

Fitting for fitment:

No idea how much play I should keep in the setup I went with 15mm, anyone know if this is ok?
Anyway, it is welded up now, but not finished yet as it needs new bearings, did put it under the car already, sits pretty good imo:

Radiator work is still in progress, I got me a Mitsubitshi Space wagon shroud with fan to mate to the Scenic radiator.
It was the closest to fitting remotly ok, but it involved work.
The width was almost ok, but as you can see it was to short in heigth, well that is almost fixed but no pics yet. Smile

Here you can see the gap, the mounting brackets are also custom made:

I was working on the feul lines that run from the chassis to the tank under the car, I felt they were hanging to loosely, so I made 3 stainless steel brackets of which the middle is fastened to the chassis.

And some plastic dividers:

The feul line in the engine bay was to short to my liking so I made another one, plus I made the return line.
You can also see the bracket we made for the pressure regulator.
Only line to be fitted now is the one from the filter to the fuel line, then the feul system is done!! Big Grin

The only brake lines to made are the ones on the rear axle, I began with the one that comes from the chassis to the axle.
I made a looping in it to have enough play for the movement of the axle when driving, but the exhaust is going to be thruogh there aswel, what do guys think?

More later.

the cover plate on the front tail shaft should be about 5mm out from the back of the gear box cover on the extension housing on the box as motor and box does move same with rear end
