Get yourself a wideband O2 sensor sometime soon and see where your mixtures are at before going crazy with ECU's.
Besides.. it's one of the primary things you'll need to get any other ECU dialed in so it wont hurt either way.

No way to take out base timing with a timing gun on a beams 3SGE? Must be no? That would be the easiest way to take out a couple of degrees of advance and save the engine. No need for ECU's yet..
