BOLT PROBLEM AE85
ey guys just a question
i few minutes ago i wanted to see under my shiftknob
cuase when i shift its very loosen or has wear
i mean when u shift to any 1st to 5th u can move the shiftknob like u were in neutral,so theres a video in youtube to fix that but there a plate u have to take out but 3 bolts were take out but there a rebeld one that i cant take out
in th epicture u can see the red arrow the other 3 bolts were easy but this one its like lose,i adjust and dont adjust and i lose and dont lose

what do u do if a bolt cant be adjust or lose
for me its very weird cause if this bolt cant be take out i use a torchflame to help me take it out but its not hard adjusted even when i adjust the damn bolt dont adjust too.so super very weird bolt

what i can do ?

Okay. So the bolt is stuck. I assume you've rounded the head by applying force to undo it.

1) Soak with wd-40, inox, easy-off

2) Take a slightly smaller socket and hammer it on to the bolt, then undo.

BOLT PROBLEM AE85
If I remember correctly, those bolts just hold the plastic cover
down to the floor pan. The bolt has either stripped the thread, or
the captive nut has come loose from the bodywork.

Either way, you take a large flat blade screwdriver, put the end
under the flange right alongside the bolt, and twist gently to lift
the flange (and the bolt) while turning in the correct direction.

That should either engage whats left of the thread so that it can
screw its way out, or make enough friction between the loose
nut and the floor pan, so that the bolt turns in the nut.

The bolts that hold the top on the gearbox will be seen once you
get that plastic cover out of the way.

If the thread is totally destroyed, Then the only option is to
cut the bolt any way you can. If you can get the screwdriver
under the head of the bolt and lift it a little bit, you can possibly
make enough gap to cut the head off the bolt with a hacksaw.

Then (if, as you say, you can feel the other end of the bolt)
the cut bit may fall out underneath. If not, you can drill it or
otherwise destroy it Angry Then maybe the nut can be cleaned
with a thread tap good enough to hold a fresh bolt if you do not
tighten it really tight. This part is only a cover, so it does not
need to be torqued up !!
