BT head with ST block.
I am considering this because I cant find a blacktop block. The car in question is a Corolla AE111GT. So I am using over my standard ecu and everything else.
how compatible is a blacktop head with a silvertop block. I know this much. I will need to use the blacktop pistons to avoid contact with the valves. 1)What about the oil pump? Can i use over my blacktop oil pump on the ST block? If i got the St block with its pump can I just exchange the sprocket? 2) Can I use my bt water pump? 3) what timing belt should I use? 4) If I use my blacktop pistons and connecting rod I will have to use crank? |

BT head with ST block.
1) both oil pump will work. 13521-16060 sprocket for the BT pump; 13521-16010 for the ST (and any other 4AG)
2) Yes you can use your water pump (BT & ST share the same water pump pulley 16371-16030) 3) ST belt with ST oil pump (13568-19035), BT belt with BT oil pump (13568-19185) 4) Every 4AG(Z)E (16 or 20v) from 1987 to 2000 use the same crankshaft (13401-16020) By the way, if you are swapping all you internal parts, you don't need a 20V block, you could take ANY 4AGE block. Depending on where you live, it could make your life a lot easier. |

BT head with ST block.
Apart from the early 16v, every 4A-GE use a 20/42mm connecting rod. So yes, you can use any of them.
But if you already have a set of BT rods, go with those. (They are strong enough and lighter) |
