We don't seem to have the rust issues in such a big way over here, much to my relief.

Cheers

Bit of an update.
So engine sitting back in place, just needs wired.
Cams are 304's, Camlift inlet 358 and outlet is 345.

Jamex Le Mans seats arriving early next week hopefully.

A set of Coby extractors for the meantime, still looking for a better option, but can spend extra cash elsewhere happily.
Powdercoated cam covers and HKS D1 oil filler cap.

Update photos.

Seats are like these but black.

Spent most of yesterday stripping the diff back

and painting it. Dad having a crack with the spray gun.

and putting it back in.

Looks a bit bright compared to the rest of the underside of the car!!

Hooked all the brakes up, ready for fluid now. Stripped and painted the drive shaft as well, but still need to put in.

Spent more hours trying to find our way around the loom, not easy when it's been chopped.

Cheers

engine specs look alot like N2 spec. All you need is 48mm sidedraught and your nearly there with sthose cams. Whats the lift in mm ?

Car looks nice. What header do you have? Was it expensive?

We have a set of 48's floating around home somewhere. Tongue
358=9.09 and 345=8.76mm

The headers are only cheap coby headers. Will do till I can afford stainless.

THey look good could you measure the distance from the head to the collector? the length of the pipes is very important.

The lift on the cams is pretty low you didn't change the shims ???

I will measure that next time I'm out there, won't be for a couple of weeks, as heading away for a bit.
It now has underbucket shims.

Righto.

I need help!! I have a rather large problem trying to fit my seats.
The new seats base is about 30-40mm thicker than the originals along with the new runners being about 20mm thicker. It doesn't sound much, but when I try to get in I can't get my legs past the steering wheel. I'm 6'2" so there is a whole lotta problems there. We have tried to mount the seats off the runners for a start just to get one it, but it sucks not having movement.

Has any one accounted this problem??
I'm looking for any options to get these seats into the car!
May have to look at cutting the rib that runs from the tranny turret across to the doors lower??? Any one done that?

Cheers[/img]

There are low-profile seat rails for sale, but I dont know where you can get them (one of the sellers on this board is bound to sell these). It's a common problem with ae86's and racing seats.. you usually end up with the opposite of what you had planned (aka truckdriver position).

I'm thinking that changing my steering wheel to one with a heap of dish will also help out.
I'm still thinking that I may have to cut the cross brace down a little to give the extra height. My dad did it in his 86 race car, so I know it's possible. Just a heap of work thats all.
