Brake master cylinder for FC3S brake conversion
Hey guys,
I'm in the finishing stages of my AE85 project, which has included a BEAMS powerplant, Hilux diff, and upgradded brakes. Everything seems to be coming together nicely, except for the brakes. The brake set up is as follows: Front: FC3S 4 pot calipers with Nissan Cefiro discs Rear - S13 K's disc brakes and calipers The brake lines have been blead thoroughly, but I still have barely any brake feel. We're still running the stock AE85 brake master cylinder. Could this be the issue? I know there are a few other people that are running FC3S brakes. Did you have to upgrade the brake master cylinder? If so, what did you use? |

Quote:...running the stock AE85 brake master cylinder. Could this be the issue? No, only its condition - good or bad, or trying to bleed a caliper that's got a bleeder on its low point. |

for your setup a 1" brake master cylinder will be a great option.
(stock is 13/16" on 86) Without that you can have some brake issue like the pedal that touching the floor before braking (or at least a realy bad feeling) |

Yup, had to upgrade the BMC after swapping the RX7 brakes on my car. But it all depends on your stock item, my Zenki mc was 2bolt, I found a 1" Landcruiser mc that bolted right up.

I'm using Mk3 Supra MBC (15/16?), the stock one was useless with fc3s calipers. Luckily I had 4 bolt MBC before, so it went right on. Only issue I had was one of the lines facing the tower directly, had to order custom flex hose for that.

Can anyone give me a part nr. or tell me exactly with model, year and engine your master brake cyllinder came from??? I'm doing a FC swap too.
I'm also thinking about dropping the brakeservo, like the TRD N2 car, but it only have 1pot calipers, not 4pot like the FC. Project AE86 now begun.
