Yeah 8/6 is pretty hardcore for belgium roads.
I have 5.5/4 in the rally car and its okish for the road and perfect for circuit/rallyish events

Eventually ordered the 8/6 kit because it was on stock at T3... Indeed half of Japan and America is using it, and the suspension set will be my main trackday set. Thinking of ordering a rally set next year to do some regularity rally in Belgium. This year will be mainly Zolder and Spa, and maybe some Nordschleife!

I don't have any experience with the AE86 chassis, so I had to start somewhere... I'm planning on experimenting with different spring setups to see what the car does. Maybe not the cheapest way, but the most educational for sure!

I have the feeling 8/6 will be far from optimal for the nurburgring.

What are the springs like on the Driftworks set?

I think this guy is using 8/6 on nurburgring, as you can see it's really bumpy. But the guy handled the car well considering the harsh ride.

Also his stock +300k engine is pretty revhappy, must have been maintained very well. Mine is getting very tired, runs well but it's ridiculous slow.

That's my friend's car.
Yes he have 8/6 setup but the shocks sucks, they are way over dampered !

I have spend quite some time on AE86s with the T3 setup (also 8/6) and it's way better in that regard !

As for the engine, it have been pourly maintened by the previous owner, like the whole car TBH...
