Bushings question.
You need to grease them up with the assembly lube after a certain time I think...helps keep them from developing cracks.
BTW, at the price they go for, I can afford to change them once in a while..

Bushings question.
yeah, and imho "assembly lube" is a normal silicone lube, not something very special, that u cant buy.

I never said it was special...heck I even greased up the stock bushings on my volvo with some random crap...will have to see how the rubber holds up..

they say, polyurethane lasts longer as rubber, but who knows..

In my opinion, what the makers say isn't the most reliable opinion...

I have Powerflex in one of my cars and i don't have nothing negative to say about it. They are perfect
But regarding Prothane, i had read some bad feedback opinions and since i never tried them, it would be fine to have some feedback from people who already tried.

maybe ppl buy more prothane kits than powerflex, because they are cheaper.
more sets = more installing errors (imo they must be lubed)

Bushings question.
Polyurethane is polyurethane, I can live with possible lesser quality for the difference in price..

Bushings question.
Rasteirinho Wrote:Hi,

I was thinking to open a new topic concerning prothane total kit but as i see this topic, i decided to use it.

I'm thinking buying a prothane total kit for my ae86.

It's a good idea? I heard some stories that prothane kit only lasts one year...

Feedback from those who have this kit installed please.

Thks

Me too!
My favorite would be the TRD Bushings, but the difference in price to polyurethane or some other is very high!

How big are the differences in Handling and living between TRD and the other "cheaper" Bushings?

Thank you

Bushings question.
the handling should be equal or better with the cheap bushings...life expectancy and comfort/roadnoise should both be better with TRD bushings.
