CJ's AE86 project
Here is my project. As introduction I may say that i've owned the car for the past 3-4 years. I was particularly looking for ae86 and it was quite an adventure untill i finally found one. This is how it looked like when i bought it:
The first mod I ever did was taking off that huge cossie wing. Step 2 was removing the metal imitation of corner lights and installing real ones. I also did some refreshment of the body and the engine. Here are the results (pics taken 2-3 years ago): This is the moment when the car looked the best, because after that i switched to "car abuse mode" , or in other words - decided that it's time to get to know each other better. Ever since that moment, it's been a real adventure to drive our "friendship" further ahead (especially having in mind that i've never driven a RWD car agressively before). Okey dokey, this is what i have done so far and what i intend to do in the near future: BRAKES: Front cross drilled & slotted rotors (italy custom made) Rear cross drilled & slotted rotors (italy custom made) Front brake pads: Mintex C-tech Rear brake pads: Mintex C-tech SUSPENSION: Shocks: Tokico HTS102 all around. Front coil-over suspension with 40mm case shortening Paradise Racing coil over kit Front Upper Hat System (bg custom made) 40mm Roll Center Adjusters 21mm tube inserts Front springs: Paradise Racing 7.15 kg/mm (400 lbs/inch) Rear springs: Swift 6.0 kg/mm (335 lbs/inch) Rear adjustable lateral rod (bg custom made) Replaced rear arm bushings (bg custom made) Tein Adjustable Camber Plates DRIVETRAIN: KAAZ 2-way LSD New Koyo differenctial bearings (all) New Koyo halfshaft bearings Shortshifter (custom made) These are my plans for the near future (hopefully): ENGINE: (status: in the closet) Minimum burnishing of head and block (if required after inspection) Multilayer Steel Headgasket: Cometic 9 mm rod bolt kit: ARP Crower Stage 3 camshafts Toda Racing valve springs T3 Adjustable cam gears 4-1 header (bg custom made) Adjustable fuel pressure regulator 295cc injectors Intake Adapter (custom made) Individual Throttle Bodies (Webber carbs) Megasquirt unit Underbucket shims (to be ordered after inspection) Raplacement of whatever is needed after inspection of engine parts As you can see, at this stage i'm planning a N/A setup. I don't have any intetions of bulding a super-dooper drag monster or what-so-ever. On the contrary - i'm looking for a modest fun driving car 1984 Toyota Corolla 4AGE 20v 2007 Subaru Impreza STi |

Nice work, and good choice in parts. Those ITB's will make it sound nice ;-)

One thing that makes it look odd at the front is the 'reverse' style paintjob on the bumper...
