LSD failure
My diff started making a lot of noise 500 km ago. Once disassembled it wasn't hard to figure out why as the side gears had digged 5 mm into the lsd case. The problem is that I cannot figure out why it happened. All clutch plates are still in good condition and it doesn't make sense to me. Any ideas?
If anybody knows where to get a 1.5 way aftermarked lsd at a reasonal Price please let me knokw Sarcasme is just one of the things I offer Daily driver: '92 Toyota Carina E GTI Rebuilt project: '86 Levin hatch |

LSD failure
Never seen that type of failure before.. The axle stub broke, causing the gear to grind into the casing, must be some kind of fatigue failure.

LSD failure
I see now.. the pattern dug into the case done by the gears threw me off.. Wouldnt make much sense to have the gear mounted to the case.

Axles break or the thing where the side gears are supposed to sit (to the right in the picture). This case has "normal" wear. Everything else in the differential looks to be in ok condition. The gears have some unusual wear because the side gears where out of place but that's it!
