Cluster back light
maybe getting the switch out in the open would be cool, and spraying some contact spray (non-corrosive variety) on the switch and hope it suffices .

Cluster back light
I'd start by shortcutting the rheostat switch (or dimmer or what ever you want to call it) as the coils inside it might have burned or the metal slider might not contact it anymore. With the rheostat shortcutted the bulbs should come on at full brightness.
