A little piece i got from a Japanese AE86 parted out by Cloko in Ireland.





Still need to make sure i can fit it in my AE86. Will require a small modification and repairs.... Something i can handle surely.

Hi everyone!

My project is still on it's way!

The works started in February with a massive overhaull on the rear axle!

First things first.... car had to be towed!



My new exhaust hanging on the WorkShop waiting fitment...




The rear axle was already removed with everything ready for a sweet treatment.









Brand new sticker from Ifwat Razak, pilot in Taiwan by Seeker!

Interesting to see what plans do you have for the final drive or the lsd, or if you're just refreshing bearings, seals, protecting the axle case and from rust, etc.

Hey headrush!

My plans are simple. My story with this AE86 started with me getting a brand new CWP because my original one was damaged....
So when i purchased the new unit i chose already a 4.55 from a Liteace.

Regarding the LSD, i found a OEM kouki LSD, and because i'm not a huge drift fan i think that LSD is enough for my adventures and tracks around here.... I don't want to invest alot more money on the LSD because my goal is a OSgiken unit.... Bat that will be later on...

As for now, i will just overhaull all the bearings and fully calibrate everything.....

The 20 valve is great... the new oil cooler and the new positioning and the increase oil gradation solved my smoke problems...

Still.. the engine is burning a bit of oil.... I can live with that... just refiling every while...

Well....

I have some updates!

My AE86 is almost ready for track action!

My rear axle....



CWP assembled with Weir solid spacer parts..... By someone that got his experience from WRC Group B days..... I must admit, it is very tight.....

Had to cut 5mm of the shafts because my car was a OEM NON LSD unit.... So.... 5mm off and they were ready to fit!

New parts are in!


Dixcel brakes are a must have with the AE86! Superb quality and price....
As for rear pads i chose Project Mu HC800 because i want the rear to be finished. LAter on my Front RX7 NS400 from PMU will be switched for a set of HC800 aswell and OFC my Brembo Mini Cooper S rotors will also be swaped for some Dixcel SD rotors!

The halfshafts were balanced aswell the driveshaft with all the bearings and retainters being replaced.

Now it is time to assemble the axle and refurbish the manifold.

My garage annex is ready for action as the 12mm manifold flanges are ready!
