Regarding tuning from my own experience the best advice I can give is find the tuner first and then see what brand he is comfortable with. As the difference in acquisition price is usually made up by him being able to navigate the software quicker and therfore charging less.

@isac - Yeah i sold that one bundle with that MS v1... Ofc if i build the engine the next move would be to save money for a decent ECU, by no means i consider the MS a decent ECU. It is good, but if i move that way i'll be using something really strong and better to deal with.....

Ofc that with the time that passed since my 16V was sold i have made some connections, and i have at my disposal a dyno to tune my engine properly, back in the days i hadn't.

Piston rings i found the NPR rings that match the 20V pistons. I just need to find the damn pistons to order them from NPR also
The cool thing about money is that i've already purchased everything to start rebuilding this engine. That is why i'm looking for some other options...

Well, i guess the decision is made and the OEM way is the correct way.

I'll open the engine first and inspect (measure) cylinder walls for roundness, you may need to oversize it.
Mind to share NPR rings part number, are they for 81.5 or 81?

2017 was a great year, even with the smoke blowing out my exhaust... ahhaha



The radiador OEM also gave up on his life span.........



Solved it with some good quality parts....





The HKS headers gave up on their life span..... And i got them smoking hardly....

I got myselft an alternative..... 5zigen...







I bet that now my exhaust problems are over......

Looking good, how was the fit of the 5Zigen header on a LHD car?

Haven't tested yet..... Still deciding what to do....

Overhaull engine and fit 5zigen

Fit 5zigen and overhaull later on.....

But looking at the manifold, they are 90% compatible..... the 4-2-1 design is different from the 4-1.

Finally got the mindset to remove my old HKS unit to testfit my 5zigen.

And... we have a winner!

They are fully compatible! Enough space for everything..... And man... the HKS is very old... Cracks everywhere... massive exhaust leaks.....

So.... i've decided to get myself a new flange on the 5zigen to fit the 20V properly and i will buy a TODA sports catalyzer to properly finish my exhaust.

Not only the toda catalyst will cut up some exhaust gases.... but it will nullify some noise on the HKS Hipower 409.

Much needed "daily sound" for me.... 32 years old and the full race car is getting out of my mind and i only wish to enjoy the ride....

Small update.

I've just opended my engine top end to try and diagnose where my problem is comming from. Smoke issues... Checked some valve seals but i have no tools to make this a good and clean job, so i've assembled everything again.

One note,

I've switched my alternador on the 20V for a 20V alternador with the 16V voltage regulator and 16V alternator bracket.

It clears...

I found this information to be almost inexistent on the web... so i went for a try and error... Seems alright and aligned properly!
